Several districts in Odisha are expected to experience cold wave conditions today, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre.
The Meteorological Centre predicts a cold wave in one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, and Kandhamal.
The cold wave is caused by a northwesterly/northeasterly dry and cold wind at lower levels penetrating over Odisha.
“No large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) during next 2-3 days and gradual rise by 2-4°C in subsequent period over the districts of Odisha. Also, minimum temperature very likely to be below normal by 3-5°C at many places over the districts Odisha during next 2-3 days,” it added.
