The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert until September 17 in anticipation of rain and thunderstorm activity in various portions of Odisha.
The IMD has issued a yellow warning for Sunday over Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Subarnapur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, and Nayagarh.
One or two locations over Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, Koraput, and Gajapati are likely to see severe rains on Monday. Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind of 30 to 40 kmph is also likely over Baleshwar, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Subarnapur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagarh.
On September 15, heavy rainfall is very likely at one or two places over Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput and Gajapati.Similarly, on September 16, heavy rainfall warning continues for Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput and Gajapati districts.
On September 17, yellow warning for heavy rainfall has been issued for Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, Koraput and Gajapati.
