On Saturday morning, a Sukhoi-30 and a Mirage 2000 plane crashed near Morena, Madhya Pradesh. The two aircrafts took off from the Gwalior air base in Madhya Pradesh, where an exercise was taking place. Defence sources said in a statement that an IAF court of inquiry will determine whether or not there was a mid-air collision.
” The Sukhoi-30 had two pilots while Mirage 2000 had one pilot during the crash. Initial reports suggest two pilots are safe while an IAF chopper is reaching the location of the third pilot soon,” added sources. Search and rescue operations are presently underway.
Two pilots of Sukhoi-30 ejected safely, being treated for injuries.
The sources said that the two pilots were safe and taken to a hospital in Gwalior, while an IAF chopper has been dispatched to the location of the third pilot.
