The minimum temperature (night temperature) in many parts of Odisha fell by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours, and it is expected to fall by another 2 to 3 degrees in the next 24 hours, according to the IMD today.
“Minimum temperature (night temperature) is very likely to fall further by 2 to 3 degree C in the next 24 hours and no large change thereafter at many places over the districts of Odisha,” said the IMD Regional Centre.
Dry weather is expected to prevail over Odisha’s districts for the next five days. According to the IMD bulletin, a cold wave is very likely to occur in one or two locations across Jharsuguda and Sundargarh districts for two days beginning February 2.
According to the IMD, the lowest minimum temperature in the last 24 hours was 8 degrees Celsius in Rourkela, while the highest temperature was 35 degrees Celsius in Boudh.
In the previous 24 hours, Similiguda in the Koraput district recorded a minimum temperature of 9.5 degrees Celsius. In the past, Bhubaneswar recorded a maximum temperature of 32.3 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 16.5 degrees Celsius, while Cuttack recorded a maximum temperature of 30.8 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 16.6 degrees Celsius in the past 24 hours, added the IMD.
“The maximum and minimum temperature in Bhubaneswar is very likely to be around 31 degree C and 15 degree C respectively in the next 24 hours, said the bulletin.
