Saturday is expected to bring rain and hailstorms to parts of the state. According to the Indian Meteorological Department’s (IMD) forecast, Keonjhar, Angul, Cuttack, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Khurda, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, and Puri are very likely to experience downpour and hailstorm. The IMD has issued an Orange alert for these nine districts, advising the public to remain vigilant.
The orange warning for thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind with speed reaching up to 40-50kmph and hailstorm has been issued for these districts. The warning will remain valid from 0830 hrs IST of 18.03.2023 up to 0830 hrs IST of March 19, IMD said.
