Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on friday unveiled a user-friendly portal for the Working Journalists Swasthya Bima Yojana, with the goal of making the scheme more accessible.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister underlined the role of journalists in spreading public awareness. He also guaranteed journalists of the State Government’s full support.
The ceremony was attended by Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Minister Pradip Kumar Amat, I&PR Department Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh, I&PR Director Saroj Kumar Samal, and other officials.
Sanjay Kumar Singh, I&PR Principal Secretary, presented a detailed overview of the portal’s utility and functionality.
In his vote of thanks, Surendranath Parida, Technical Director of the I&PR Department, expressed gratitude.
On a virtual basis, District Information and Public Relations Officers from all districts in the state attended the seminar.
Previously, the State Government had created the ‘Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima Yojana,’ a health insurance policy that covers working journalists and their qualifying family members’ medical expenditures.
