Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated 21 new bus stations in the state’s 13 districts as part of the ‘Ama Bus Stand’ scheme. Along with this, the groundwork for the construction of 124 block-level bus stops in 26 districts has been prepared. The Chief Minister described it as a new milestone in the transportation sector, saying that once all of these bus stations are constructed, two crore people in the state will benefit.
According to the Chief Minister, all of these bus stops are highly modern and sophisticated. It includes amenities for passengers, drivers, and all bus transit employees. In addition, the Chief Minister introduced the ‘Mo Paribahan Seba’ smartphone app.
He stated that there would be no need to visit government agencies to obtain various transportation services. The Chief Minister introduced the Su-Bahaka Yojana to improve driver efficiency. Under this proposal, 50,000 drivers will be trained. The CM dedicated a driving instruction facility in Palur, Ganjam. The Chief Minister advocated placing the highest priority on the safety of road users and passengers.
According to the Chief Minister, a good transportation infrastructure sets the path for a thriving economy. With decent roads, various institutional services and facilities such as schools, colleges, and hospitals can be conveniently accessed. It serves as a catalyst for the development of a dynamic social and economic society. The Chief Minister encouraged the Transportation Department to continue its work efforts to provide better quality transport services to the people.
On this occasion, Commerce and Transport Minister Tukuni Sahu stated that the trend of good governance in the state has persisted for the past 23 years under the leadership of the Chief Minister. He stated that efforts are being made in the state to promote road, rail, and air transportation for the advancement of communication.
Tusarkanti Behera, Minister of Electronics and Information Technology in Puri, and Niranjan Pujari, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Health in Sonepur, were both there and congratulated the Chief Minister for the transportation system and bus stand infrastructure.
The initiative was led by 5T Secretary VK Pandian. The welcoming message was provided by Usha Padhi, Principal Secretary, Department of Commerce and Transport, vote of thanks was given by the Chairman Cum Managing Director of OSRTC Diptesh Kumar Pattnayak. Principal Secretary Pradeep Jena, Development Commissioner Anu Garg and senior officials were present.
