The Low Pressure Area over the northwest Bay of Bengal and the bordering West Bengal-north Odisha coasts, as well as the associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level and sloping southwestwards with height, remain in place. It is expected to proceed northwestwards across Jharkhand during the following two days, according to the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) midday advisory on Wednesday.
The Monsoon Trough currently goes via Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Ratlam, Siddhi, Ranchi, and Digha, the center of the Low Pressure Area across the northwest Bay of Bengal and surrounding West Bengal-north Odisha coasts, and then southeastwards to the east central Bay of Bengal, according to the IMD bulletin.
Under the influence of the system, light to moderate rain/thundershower is highly possible at most locations over the districts of Odisha with intense spells at places during the next five days.
