After days of discussion, the Congress announced the initial list of candidates for Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh on Sunday, the first day of Navratri.
The Congress announced 144 candidates for the 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly in its first list, including former Chief Minister and state unit chief Kamal Nath from Chhindwara, Dr Govind Singh from Lahar, and Digvijaya Singh’s son Jaivardhan Singh from Raghogarh.
The grand old party issued a list of 30 candidates for Chhattisgarh, with Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel running for the Patan Assembly seat, his deputy and senior party leader T.S. Singh Deo running for the Ambikapur Assembly seat, and Tamradhwaj Sahu running for the Durg rural Assembly seat.
In Telangana, the Congress Party announced a list of 55 candidates for the 119-member Assembly, including Dr. Kota Neelima from the Sanath Nagar Assembly district, Jupally Krishna Rao from Kollapur, and party CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu from the Madhur SC reserved seat.
The 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly will vote on November 17, while the 119-member Telangana Assembly will vote on November 30, and Chhattisgarh will vote in two parts on November 7 and 17.
The vote will be counted on December 3.
