On October 31, Raghubar Das, an eminent BJP leader and former Jharkhand chief minister, is likely to take the oath of office as Odisha’s 26th governor.
The swearing-in event is set to take place at Bhubaneswar’s Raj Bhavan on October 31 at 11.45 a.m.
On Monday morning, the Governor-designate Das is scheduled to arrive in Puri via train.
Later on, he would pray at Puri’s Shree Jagannath Temple. Before taking the oath on October 31, he is probably going to worship at the Lord Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar to ask for the Lord’s blessings.
President Droupadi Murmu named Das the new governor of Odisha on October 18.
He took over for outgoing Governor, Professor Ganeshi Lal who bid farewell to the state and left for his home state Haryana on Friday.
Das was the Chief Minister of Jharkhand from 2014 to 2019.
