The winter chill has set in over Odisha, with temperatures dropping below 10°C in numerous spots during the last 24 hours. While night temperatures (minimum temperatures) plummeted below 10°C in at least 16 places, G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district was the coldest place in Odisha, recording a minimum temperature of 4.6°C.
Other places in the state where the nighttime temperature dropped below 10°C include Semiliguda (5.6°C), Phulbani (6°C), Kirei (7.1°C), Koraput (7.7°C), Keonjhar (7.8°C), Daringbadi (8°C), Angul (8.6°C), Bhawanipatna (8.6°C), Rourkela (8.7°C), Sundargarh (9°C), Nabarangpur (9°C), Sonepur (9.3°C), Jharsuguda (9.4°C), Ranitaal (9.4°C), and Chipilima (9.8°C).
The weather office predicts that there will be no change in the weather during the next 24 hours, but that some areas will likely encounter shallow to dense fog.
