On 1st June, 2024, in the USA and the West Indies, the much awaited ninth T20 World Cup will get underway, with 20 nations competing for the coveted title. The tournament will begin with the hosts, the USA, against Canada. The highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan is set for June 9 in New York.

This season has a redesigned format with four groups consisting of five teams each. The USA is hosting Group A, which is made up of Ireland, Canada, Pakistan, and India. England, the defending champions, are in Group B with Australia, Namibia, Scotland, and Oman. Along with New Zealand, Afghanistan, Uganda, and Papua New Guinea, the West Indies are the co-hosts of Group C. Group D consists of South Africa, Netherlands, Nepal, and rival Asian nations Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The matches in this group will be held in the US and the West Indies.
Based on pre-tournament seedings, the top two teams from each group advance to the Super Eights stage, where they will be split into two groups of four. Interestingly, teams are given a pre-determined group for the Super 8 phase. The much awaited India vs. Pakistan match is set for 9th June in New York, and the tournament final will take place on June 29th in Barbados. Semi-finals are set for 26th June in Guyana and 27th June in Trinidad.
