Five days remain until the opening of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. On Thursday, the sculpture of Ram Lalla by Arjun Yogiraj will be put in the Sanctum Sanctorum.
With the aid of a crane, the idol was carefully lowered inside the Ram temple’s “grabh grah,” or sanctum sanctorum, early on Thursday morning. The idol will be positioned atop a throne later that day in accordance with “mandap pravesh” customs. There will be a Ganeshambika Pujan performed. This will involve reciting the “Ayushmantra” aloud.
On Thursday night, the priests will perform a “arti” of the new idol after performing “Jaladhivas,” or cleaning it with water, and “Gandhadivas,” or showering it with a different essence. Before this, Panchgavya’s five constituents were milk, ghee, cow dung, gau mutra, and curd — will be used to purify the throne.
This occurs one day following the idol’s arrival at the temple and its tour of the grounds. It was positioned at the Sanctum Sanctorum, also known as the “Grabh Grah,” gate. One day before the Ram Temple is inaugurated, on January 21, the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremonies will come to an end.
