According to the presidential press office, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed an agreement on security cooperation.
The 10-year agreement was signed in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv and is based on the G7 joint declaration of support for Ukraine, according to a Friday report from the Xinhua news agency.
According to the agreement, the Netherlands will give Ukraine military assistance totaling 2 billion euros, or around $2.17 billion, in 2024 and will keep doing so in the future.
As per the agreement, the Netherlands committed to giving Ukraine access to contemporary military hardware, such as armored vehicles, artillery, and air defense systems.
In addition, the Netherlands will assist Ukraine’s long-range, sea, and aviation forces.
The Netherlands also reaffirmed its commitment to support Ukraine’s aspirations to join the EU and the NATO.
Last year, the Netherlands provided 1.6 billion euros (about $1.73 billion) in military support for Ukraine.
