The Odisha government on Thursday hiked the minimum wage for four categories, namely unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled, and highly-skilled workers.
The wages of unskilled workers have increased from Rs 352 to Rs 450, while those of semi-skilled workers have increased from Rs 392 to Rs 500, those of skilled workers have increased from Rs 442 to Rs 550, and the minimum wage of highly-skilled workers has increased from Rs 502 to Rs 600, per an announcement made by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in this regard.
There are lakhs of workers in the state’s public and commercial sectors who will gain from this decision made by the chief minister.
