Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supremo and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik , finally revealed the first list of candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha and Assembly seats on Wednesday, putting an end to much anticipation and conjecture.
Today, CM Patnaik revealed the names of 71 nominees for Assembly seats and nine contenders for the Lok Sabha. The Chief Minister is planning to run for the Hinjli Assembly seat.
A surprising nomination was made by him for the Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat, which goes to Bobby Das, the BJD organisational secretary. Anshuman Mohanty was chosen for the Kendrapara seat. It is noteworthy to add that the BJP’s nominee for the Sambalpur seat is Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Manmath Routray, who joined the BJD on Wednesday morning, has been nominated for the Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha seat. He will be contesting sitting BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi.
