Following a brief respite, blistering heatwave conditions are expected to return to Odisha, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre.
According to the weather office, the state is anticipated to experience heatwave conditions, with daytime temperatures rising by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius until May 21.
On May 20, the department issued a yellow alert to six districts, including Bargarh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, and Kandhamal.
Similarly, the department has issued a yellow warning for May 21 in 14 districts, including Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Deogarh, Angul, Sambalpur, Dhenkanal, and Kandhamal.
