The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow heatwave warning for these five Odisha districts today. The IMD has also projected thunderstorm activity in several sections of the state during the next few days.
Yellow warnings have been issued for the following districts: Bargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bolangir, and Nupada.
The maximum temperature will gradually fall by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next three days, according to IMD.

Hot and humid weather conditions very likely over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Khordha, Nayagarh, Puri, Ganjam, Keonjhar and Gajapati today.

The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) have issued an advisory for the people of the state in view of the heatwave conditions in Odisha.
The advisory says, to take precautionary measure while moving outside during the peak hours that is 11 am to 3 pm. Try to avoid long exposure. People need to wear light weight and coloured clothes. Avoid direct sunlight during the peak hours and drink ORS, home made drinks like lemon water, butter milk, lassi.
