The State government today appointed senior lawyer of Orissa High Court Pitambar Acharya as Advocate General of Odisha with immediate effect.
The Law Department communicated this via a specific notification.
“The Governor of Odisha is pleased to appoint Pitambar Acharya, Senior Advocate, High Court of Orissa to be the Advocate General for the State of Odisha with immediate effect,” the notification read.
The State Government nominated senior lawyer Jyoti Prakash Patnaik as the in-charge attorney general in June, following Ashok Parija’s resignation due to a change in government.
Acharya specializes in legal writing, human resource management, and legal analysis of difficult topics. He received his LLB from University Law College at Utkal University. He has a master’s degree in political science.
His academic interests are in Law/Public Policy, with a focus on comprehending contemporary political, cultural, economic, and social challenges, as well as its social and socioeconomic implications, in order to facilitate national legal research.
