The Paris 2024 Olympics is all set to begin on July 26 in France. Over 100 athletes will represent India in 16 sports and 69 medal events. The great sporting event will be broadcast live in India for free.
On July 25, India’s first battle will be in archery ranking rounds, with six participants, including Deepika Kumari and Tarundeep Rai. India’s most successful Olympic performance to date came in Tokyo 2020, where players won seven medals—one gold, two silvers, and four bronze.
Neeraj Chopra created history by winning gold in the men’s javelin throw at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, becoming the first Indian athlete to do so. He may be seen competing for a medal on August 6 and 8. PV Sindhu, weightlifter Mirabai Chanu, boxer Lolina Borohain, and other athletes will compete on the global stage. India will send 112 athletes to the Paris Olympics in 2024.
According to sources, Indian tennis player Rohan Bopanna, 44, will be the oldest participant, with swimmer Dhinidhi Desinghu, 14, being the youngest.
The focus will also be on the India men’s hockey team, which earned bronze in Tokyo 2020. Tennis player Sumit Nagal, wrestler Antim Panghal, hurdler Jyothi Yarraji, boxer Nikhat Zareen, and badminton players Chirag Shetty, Lakshya Sen, and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy will be among the many Indian athletes competing.
Athletics will represent the majority of India’s participants, with 29 contingents. Annu Rani, Kishore Jena, Avinash Sable, and Tajinerpal Singh Toor will all lead in the same category.
