Aside from the aforementioned districts, the meteorological office predicts mild to moderate rainfall or thundershowers in the north and south Odisha districts.
Most of Odisha saw heavy rain from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bolangir received the most rainfall (92 mm), followed by Paralakhemundi (61.2 mm), Angul (60 mm), and Nabarangpur and Boudh (57 mm).
District officials have been urged to take preventive measures to prevent flooding in the state’s low-lying districts.
Incessant rain on Monday and Tuesday caused flooding in various districts of Cuttack, and traffic on National Highway No. 57 was disrupted owing to waterlogging. Communication between Khurda and Nayagarh has been broken. Rainwater floods down Baghmari Road, stranding buses, trucks, and two-wheelers heading to Bhubaneswar on both sides.
