The Odisha government today announced a financial award for the Indian Men’s Hockey Team and their support staff for winning the Bronze Medal at the Paris Olympics 2024.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi praised the team and announced the monetary reward.
According to his announcement, all players will receive Rs 15 lakh each, with Odia player Amit Rohidas receiving a special prize of Rs 4 crore. Similarly, the government would provide Rs 10 lakh to all support workers.
“I announce Rs 15 lakh cash reward for each player and Rs 10 lakh for each supporting staff. I also announced Rs 4 crore special cash reward for Odia player Amit Rohidas,” Majhi announced.
Today’s achievement will encourage many sporting talents and fans in the state, he said, thanking Harmanpreet Singh and the entire team on their medal win.
After the squad defeated Spain 2-1 to win the bronze medal, the Chief Minister spoke with all of the players over the phone. During the event, Majhi also asked the team to visit Odisha soon.
