On Friday, a low-pressure region in the Bay of Bengal is expected to bring more rains to Odisha. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow signal for heavy to heavy rain, thunder, and lightning in 13 districts of the state on Thursday.
The districts most likely to be affected include Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Gajapati, and Ganjam.
The IMD predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall in north Odisha due to a probable low-pressure region in the Bay of Bengal. A cyclonic circulation is now active over Myanmar. It will proceed west-northwest and enter the North Bay of Bengal on Friday. As a result, a low-pressure area will be formed on Friday.
Today, 14 districts were given a yellow warning for lightning along the coast. The amount of rain will rise starting tomorrow. Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts have been issued a yellow alert owing to heavy rain on Friday.
