President of Singapore Thurman Sanmugaratnam was received by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra on his arrival at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar on a two-day visit of Odisha on Friday.
Sanmugaratnam is accompanied by his wife and a eight-member delegation.
In order to strengthen the economic relations between Odisha and Singapore and investigate potential avenues for cooperation, Shanmugaratnam will meet with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and other ministers while in the state. The visiting President will also be honored with a state banquet hosted by Chief Minister Majhi.
To strengthen the skill development network in Odisha, the state government’s department of skill development and technical education (SD&TE) and ITE Education Services (ITEES), Singapore, are set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the World Skill Centre in Bhubaneswar.
On Saturday, Tharman is expected to tour the Bharat Biotech vaccine production facility in Info Valley-II as well as the Sun Temple in Konark.
