The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for intense fog in numerous districts of Odisha over the next 24 hours.
The IMD’s regional center in Bhubaneswar issued a lunchtime weather statement on Friday, predicting strong fog in one or two locations in Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, and Khurda districts.
In several of these districts, shallow to moderate fog is also forecast in the early morning hours.
On Saturday, severe fog is expected in one or two locations in the Ganjam and Nayagarh districts. Furthermore, shallow to moderate fog is likely in several areas of these districts, as well as Puri, Gajapati, Khurda, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi.
The IMD has encouraged citizens to use caution when traveling, as visibility may be substantially decreased under these conditions.
Authorities have asked people to observe safety precautions and keep informed about weather forecasts.
