The second payment of funds for the Subhadra Yojana will be given on March 8, benefiting nearly 1 crore women, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced on Friday.
The money will be distributed during a special event in Berhampur on International Women’s Day.
“At least 1 crore women will receive their funds through direct transfer under the Subhadra Yojana on March 8. We’ve successfully met our target of 1 crore beneficiaries, and I am proud to say that one crore women will have their funds deposited directly into their bank accounts during a special event in Berhampur”, Parida told newspersons.
It is worth noting that the Subhadra plan was introduced on September 17, 2024, following the formation of the BJP government in Odisha. Initially, 25 female beneficiaries received Rs 5,000 in their bank accounts during the first phase. The scheme’s scope has extended dramatically, with over 39 lakh women benefiting in the second phase on October 9, 2024. Further payments occurred, with 20 lakh women receiving cash in the third phase on November 24, 2024, and a further 18 lakh women beneficiaries receiving Rs 5,000 on February 8, 2025.
