Odisha is experiencing severe heat and excessive humidity, with numerous locations clocking temperatures exceeding 35 degrees Celsius since this morning.
According to the most recent data available until 8:30 a.m., Jharsuguda recorded a temperature of 35.2°C, followed by Sambalpur at 34.4°C and Hirakud at 34°C. Other districts experienced high temperatures, with Baleswar at 33°C, Puri at 33.4°C, Rourkela at 32.8°C, Bhubaneswar at 32.4°C, Chandbali at 32.2°C, Paradip at 31.2°C, and Gopalpur at 30.2°C, according to weather expert Umashankar Das.
The state also has high humidity levels, including Paradip at 74.8%, Puri at 72.1%, Gopalpur at 70.3%, and Chandbali at 70.2%. Bhubaneswar reported 63.9% humidity, while Baleswar recorded 61%. Other districts, such Rourkela, Sambalpur, Hirakud, and Jharsuguda, had humidity levels of 48.7%, 47.1%, 45.5%, and 37.4%, respectively.
The combination of high temperatures and humidity is making the weather feel much worse, and locals are reminded to take all essential steps to keep safe during this heat wave.
