May 17: A thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speeds of 50-60 kmph is expected in the afternoon/evening hours in one or two locations over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Ganjam, Nabarangapur, Nuapada, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, and Sundargarh. These districts have received an orange warning.
Thunderstorms with lightning and strong surface wind speeds of 50-60 kmph are highly likely in the afternoon/evening hours in one or two locations over the districts of Kalahandi and Dhenkanal.
Furthermore, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface wind speeds of 40-50 kmph are extremely likely to develop in the afternoon/evening hours in one or two locations across the districts of Balangir, Kandhamal, Sambalpur, Bargarh, and Deogarh.
Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface wind speeds of 30-40 kmph are extremely likely in the afternoon/evening hours in one or two locations over the districts of Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Angul, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, and Malkangiri.
May 18: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph is very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Malkangiri and Rayagada. These districts have been issued orange warnings.
Moreover, thunderstorms with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph are very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangapur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Gajapati, Ganjam, Balasore, Bhadrak and Sundargarh.
May 19: A thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speeds of 30- 40 kmph is expected in the afternoon/evening hours in one or two locations over the districts of Balangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Rayagada, and Gajapati.
May 20: A thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speeds of 30-40 kmph is highly likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours in one or two locations over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Koraput, and Rayagada.
