In preparation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Odisha tomorrow, the Revenue & Disaster Management Department has declared a half-day holiday on June 20 for government offices and Revenue and Magisterial courts in the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation area.
This move is owing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Odisha, which will feature a public programme at Janata Maidan and a roadshow from Biju Patnaik International Airport to the event venue, which is estimated to gather over two lakh people.
The roadshow is expected to cause substantial traffic congestion on numerous major routes. To control traffic flow, busses and other vehicles have been assigned specific routes and parking spaces. Goods carriers with six or more wheels will be diverted to reduce congestion, but emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire trucks would be permitted to pass through unhindered.
