The Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima Yojana application date has been extended by the Odisha government to September 8.
The Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima Yojana, a health insurance program for working journalists, has reportedly seen its second extension of the application deadline by the Odisha government.
In response to appeals from journalists, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi first extended the deadline from August 25 to August 30 and then again to September 8. This decision follows his directive.
Journalists and their families are eligible to get cashless medical care at affiliated hospitals up to Rs 5 lakh under this program. Online applications are being accepted at www.owjws.odisha.gov.in for both new enrollments and renewals.
The scheme aims to support journalists in times of medical emergencies, ensuring they receive the necessary care without financial burden.
