According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a low-pressure system is expected to form over the central Bay of Bengal and intensify into a depression by September 26 before crossing southern Odisha and northern Andhra Pradesh on September 27.
This weather system will deliver significant rains to the state, affecting many districts.
According to today’s forecast, numerous districts in Odisha have been issued a warning due to the impending weather system. Koraput, Nabarangapur, and Nuapada are under orange alert, while Malkangiri, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati, and Balasore are on yellow alert.
Furthermore, rainfall is forecast in many areas of the state, including coastal, western, and central Odisha.
Residents should be informed and take appropriate actions to safeguard their safety.
It is worth noting that a low-pressure system is now active over the western Bay of Bengal, with another anticipated to form over the central Bay of Bengal today. With back-to-back low pressure systems in mind, the Regional Weather Centre has advised fisherman to stay ashore until September 28 owing to strong seas.
