A cyclonic circulation is expected to form over the North Bay of Bengal around October 10. Although the India Meteorological Department has not confirmed whether a low-pressure area will form, it has issued warnings of potential heavy rainfall.
A trough is currently active across north coastal Odisha, interior Odisha, Telangana, and south Chhattisgarh. According to the IMD, a cyclonic circulation is active over North-East Jharkhand and surrounding areas, which may result in thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in various parts of the state during the next three days.
The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has issued yellow warnings for various districts, indicating heavy rain and thunderstorms. The districts on notice are Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
Some areas have already received rainfall, including Chandbali (36mm), Keonjhar (7mm), Titlagarh (4mm), and Nayagarh (5mm). Residents are asked to remain vigilant and monitor weather reports for further instructions.
