Cuttack City is gradually returning to normalcy, with businesses and commercial establishments reopening after the district administration removed the curfew and restored internet connection.
Following violent clashes at a Durga puja idol immersion procession on Friday night, the Cuttack district administration imposed a 36-hour curfew, suspended internet services, and banned the use of WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and other social media services for 48 hours.
However, because no further untoward incidents were reported in the city, the district administration lifted the curfew, which had been in place since Sunday night, and restored internet service yesterday.
Following this, the city’s markets, shops, and commercial establishments reopened, and people ventured out of their homes to buy groceries, vegetables, and other necessities.
Furthermore, all offices and banks have begun to gradually reopen and resume normal operations, and people have begun to attend them and perform their duties.
However, police are currently patrolling critical sections of the silver city to avoid more incidents and maintain peace and order. Furthermore, senior police personnel are constantly monitoring the situation and have decided to take the appropriate next steps.
