According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a low-pressure system is expected to emerge over the South Bay of Bengal on October 21 and may deepen into a depression by October 23.
According to the IMD, the system will first move northwest before changing direction towards Tamil Nadu and southern Andhra Pradesh.
However, the IMD stated that this system will have no effect on Odisha’s weather. The low-pressure area may develop into a depression, although its track and severity remain unknown.
Meanwhile, meteorological models indicate that storm may travel towards Tamil Nadu and south Andhra Pradesh, but little influence is expected in Odisha,” said an IMD official.
The GFS model indicates that the system would deepen into a depression by October 23, approaching north Tamil Nadu and south Andhra Pradesh. However, other models have not confirmed this forecast.
According to the IMD forecast, Odisha will see dry weather this week, with no rainfall expected in any portion of the state.
