The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an advisory alerting applicants of the forthcoming UGC NET December 2025 application deadline. According to the notice, the registration portal for the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) will close on November 7 at 11:50 p.m. The advice comes as a group of candidates eligible for Assistant Professor positions, Junior Research Fellowships (JRF), and PhD admissions prepare to apply through the official portal at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
As a result, only applicants who have completed and submitted the online application form for the UGC NET December 2025 session, paid the necessary examination fee, and downloaded the confirmation page will be regarded duly registered.
According to the NTA’s timetable for the December cycle, online application submissions began on October 7 and will continue until November 7. Furthermore, as previously announced by the NTA, the computer-based exam would cover 85 courses from December 31, 2025 to January 7, 2026.
The advise further states that “only candidates who have successfully paid the fee will be considered as having completed the application process” and that “no changes shall be permitted later” once the price has been paid. Of these, the board had earlier confirmed that the correction window for the cycle is slated for 10 – 12 November 2025.
According to the notice, aspirants are also encouraged to ensure that their important documents, such as Aadhaar and UDID (for persons with disabilities), have precise information to avoid future disputes. Of these, the board had earlier confirmed that the correction window for the cycle is slated for 10 – 12 November 2025.
Candidates who have not yet completed the process are recommended to log in and finalise their submission well before the deadline. To apply, individuals must first register online, enter their personal and academic information, submit any relevant papers, pay the charge, and receive the confirmation page for their records. Only then will their application be accepted under the guidelines outlined in the NTA notice.
