The Jubilee Hills bypoll was called due to the death of BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath in June of this year. The constituency’s voting took place smoothly on November 11, with only 48.47 percent of voters exercising their franchise.
Meanwhile, Odisha’s Nuapada assembly constituency saw a tremendous voting turnout of 83.45% of the approximately 2.53 lakh individuals who exercised their right. The by-election was called in Nuapada due to the death of sitting BJD MLA and former minister Rajendra Dholakia.

Sunita, Gopinath’s widow, is the BRS candidate, seeking to hold the seat and return to power after the party’s devastating setback in the 2023 Assembly elections.
The ruling Congress party has chosen Naveen Yadav as their candidate, while the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), led by Asaduddin Owaisi, supports him. The party is firm in its determination to strengthen its electoral control.
