The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for cold wave conditions in isolated pockets across several Odisha districts on January 10 and 11.
According to the India Meteorological Department’s midday bulletin, cold wave conditions are highly likely to persist in the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Cuttack, Khordha, and Angul on January 10. The alert has been extended until January 11, with Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Angul, and Dhenkanal districts expected to suffer cold wave conditions.
According to the IMD projection, the minimum temperature (night temperature) in Odisha’s districts would not move much over the next 24 hours. However, the minimum temperature is forecast to rise gradually by 2-3°C over the next two days, with no more significant change.
Residents, however, are recommended to take the required steps to deal with the current chilly weather.
