India topped the medal standings, winning 94 medals, including 51 gold, 23 silver, and 20 bronze, as the Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship, New Delhi 2026, ended at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi. On the final day of contests, the hosts won six gold, three silver, and four bronze medals, cementing their overwhelming position on the continent.
On the last day, Indian shooters swept the podium in the 25m Center Fire Pistol and 25m Pistol Junior categories, while also winning three medals in the 50m Rifle Prone Women Senior and Junior competitions. They also won four gold medals in team events, capping off the competition on a high note.
Amanpreet Singh won the 25m Centre Fire Pistol with a final score of 589-24x after the Precision and Rapid stages. Olympian Gurpreet Singh won silver with a score of 584-20x, while Ankur Goel took bronze with a score of 570-11x. In addition, the trio won the team gold medal.
Suraj Sharma continued his strong start to the year by winning gold in the 25m Pistol Junior event with a score of 585-25x, while Mukesh Nelavalli won another medal at the championship, this time silver after shooting 582-21x. Abhinav Deshwal, who earned a bronze medal at the Deaflympics, scored 573-17x points. The trio also won the team gold at the event.
Sift Kaur Samra, an Olympian, won silver in the 50m Rifle Prone event with a score of 623.2, while Tejaswani Sawant, the 2010 World Champion, scored an impressive bronze five years after her last international medal. Yelizaveta Bezrukova from Kazakhstan won gold. Sift, Tejaswani, and Manini Kaushik united to win India’s team gold medal.
In the junior category, Dhavalika Devi Nyamurus earned bronze with a score of 614.1, while Kazak shooters Tomiris Amanova and Darya Ponomarenko won gold and silver. Prachi Gaikwad, Anuskha Thokur, and Devi won gold as a team.
