With the High School Certificate (HSC) exams only a day away, the Board of Secondary Education has stated that examinees would be given an extra 15 minutes to enter the examination center in case of an emergency. The deadline for entries has been extended from 9:15 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

“Examinees will be allowed to enter the examination centre until 9:30 a.m., with a 15-minute grace period,” stated Srikanta Tarai, President of the Odisha Board of Secondary Education.

Meanwhile, the board has taken additional efforts to guarantee that the examination procedure runs smoothly, as well as strong precautions to prevent cheating.

A total of 3082 centres have been set up across the state, with CCTV cameras installed to monitor the examination process. Students found guilty of cheating will face strict action.

To ensure that exams run well, differently-abled pupils have been given an extra 50 minutes to complete their papers. These students will be given with scribes by the examination centers, although they are also welcome to bring their own scribe if they are from a lower class than Class X.

Notably, a total of 5,61,979 students will take the exam at 3082 centers across the state. The tests will be conducted in a single shift, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
