Stock Market Highlights on Monday, March 30, 2026: The Indian equities benchmark indices closed the final session of fiscal year 2026 with heavy losses, as the ongoing US-Iran confrontation stoked concerns about growth and inflation prospects.
The Nifty50 finished 2.14 percent, or 488.20 points, lower at 22,331.40, while the Sensex closed 2.22 percent, or 1,635.67 points lower at 71,947.55.
The biggest losers in the Nifty50 index were Bajaj Finance, Shriram Finance, and State Bank of India.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and Nifty SmallCap ended 2.68 percent and 2.66 percent lower, respectively.
Sector-wise, the Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Bank, and Nifty Financial Services were the worst performers. Among sectoral indices, the Nifty Metal and Nifty Oil & Gas decreased the least.
