On the auspicious occasion of Maha Bishuba Sankranti and the Odia New Year, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida formally launched the innovative project ‘Aarohan’ today at the ICWS campus in Bhubaneswar.
In a touching cultural gesture, the Deputy Chief Minister applied tikka to the children as a symbol of a new beginning, sending them off to the next stage of their lives with the Arohan kit, blessings, and encouragement. The program’s tagline “Ujwala Bhabisyat Pain Pade Agaku” reflects the ethos of the effort, emphasizing a communal step forward towards a brighter future for every kid. The campaign was created by the Department of Women and Children Development.
The fundamental goal of this ambitious effort is to reinforce the basis of Early Childhood Education throughout the state and guarantee that children transfer smoothly from Anganwadi centers to Bal Vatika-3 after completing their pre-primary education.
Addressing the children and parents in attendance, the Deputy Chief Minister underlined the importance of a child’s brain development throughout the first six years of life. She emphasized that, in honor of Poshan Pakhya-2026, the administration is promoting early childhood development. She emphasized the importance of family and society, stating that while this program is not only the duty of the government, active participation and support from parents are required to construct a bright future for children.

Dr. Mrunalini Darswal, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Department of Women and Child Development, underlined the importance of active cooperation from all Anganwadi workers and officials in order to strengthen Anganwadi centers and expedite children’s holistic development.
Swoyam Prabha Mohanty, Additional Secretary and Director-in-Charge (ICDS & SW), Itishree Das, Additional Secretary, and N. C. Jyoti Ranjan, Additional Secretary of the WCD Department, were also in attendance, as were several top officials from the department and partner organizations.
