In a tremendous relief, 1,23,849 women who were denied the third installment of the Subhadra Yojana received their financial support today.
According to sources, more than Rs 61 crore has been directly deposited into the bank accounts of these individuals. These women had not received their dues, which were distributed on March 8 to commemorate International Women’s Day, due to a variety of technical and verification challenges. The pending cash has been given to the eligible beneficiaries after a fresh verification.
According to government officials, field verification for over one lakh more pending applications is presently underway. Meanwhile, the government has received around 3.26 lakh fresh applications for the initiative thus far.
