In a significant boost to specialist dental services, the Odisha Health and Family Welfare Department has provided a monthly incentive for dentists employed by the Odisha Medical Services (Dental) cadre.
According to the announcement, dentists who have completed post-graduate studies at NMC-recognised medical institutes and work for the Health and Family Welfare Department would be eligible for a monthly incentive of Rs 20,000.
The incentive will be effective from the date of notification, which is August 29, 2026.
Health Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling said, “Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, our government is encouraging post-graduation qualified dentists to join government services and further strengthening specialist dental services in the government health system of the state. This important step will definitely strengthen health services in the coming days.”
The notification has been issued by the Health and Family Welfare Department after obtaining concurrence from the Finance Department.
