The Odisha Government’s Higher Education Department on Tuesday extended the deadline for submitting online applications under the Bidesh Sikhyabruti Scheme for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students.
The department’s letter stated that the deadline for submitting applications has been extended from September 1, 2026 to September 18, 2026. Interested students should apply through the Odisha State Scholarship Portal at scholarship.odisha.gov.in.
The Bidesh Sikhyabruti Scheme has been implemented to provide financial aid to SC and ST students pursuing postgraduate and Ph.D. programs at the top 200 QS-ranked international institutions and universities. The ranking applicable for selection will be based on the most recent available QS rankings at the time the application is submitted.
Under the scheme, SC and ST students with an annual family income of up to Rs 12 lakh are eligible to avail themselves of the benefits.
A total of 50 SC/ST students will be supported under the scheme.
The extended deadline applies to students seeking the scholarship for the academic years 2025-26 (December 2025/January 2026) and 2026-27.
