Stock Market Highlights on Tuesday, Sept 22, 2026: Benchmark indices ended lower as IT and financial shares weighed on the market, with the Nifty50 snapping its four-day winning streak. The Sensex fell 329.91 points or 0.44 per cent to 74,529.08, and the Nifty50 was down 85.30 points or 0.36 per cent at 23,329.00.
Trent, Tata Consumer Products, and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) were the top losers in the Nifty50 index. In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and the Nifty SmallCap settled 0.08 per cent and 0.23 per cent lower, respectively.
Sector-wise, the Nifty IT, Nifty PSU Bank, and Nifty Pharma declined the most, while Nifty Media, Nifty Realty, and Nifty Metal posted the biggest gains.
