Stock Market Highlights on Wednesday, Sept 23, 2026: The stock market indices went up after oil prices stopped falling and stayed near $100 for each barrel because people are hoping that the United States and Iran will have talks.
The Sensex increased by 299.17 points. 0.4 Per cent to reach 74,828.25. The Nifty50 also went up by 117.80 points or 0.5 per cent to 23,446.80.
Tata Steel, Bajaj Finance and Hindalco Industries were the performers in the Nifty50 index.
In the market the Nifty MidCap and the Nifty SmallCap both went up. The Nifty MidCap rose 0.7 per cent. The Nifty SmallCap went up 0.89 per cent.
Looking at the sectors the Nifty Metal had the best performance with more than 2, per cent gain. The Nifty FMCG also did well compared to sectors. However the Nifty IT did the worst. Lost the most.
