The Super 4 rounds of the ongoing Asia Cup are due to begin on Wednesday, with the four clubs locked in for the continental tournament’s next stage.
Following a stunning victory over Afghanistan on Tuesday, co-host Sri Lanka stormed into the tournament’s Super 4 stage.
Pakistan and India have already qualified for the Super 4 stage from Group A, and Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have claimed the remaining two slots from Group B.
The four teams will now play three additional matches during the Super 4 round of the event to determine who will compete in the one-off final on September 17 in Colombo.
Pakistan will play Bangladesh at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore to commence the Super 4 stage. Bangladesh will then face Sri Lanka at R. Premdasa Stadium on September 9. tournament.
The tournament’s second encounter will be played on September 10 at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo between archrivals India and Pakistan, before Rohit Sharma’s team returns two days later to play Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka will then face Pakistan in a vital match in Colombo on September 13. On September 15, India and Bangladesh will play their final Super 4 encounter.
One of the six Super Four matches will be hosted in Lahore, while the other five will be staged in Colombo.
The two top teams at the end of the Super 4 stage will then meet in the final on September 17 at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
