India finished its Baku World Championship campaign with a sixth gold medal and three more bronze medals, bringing their total to six gold medals and eight bronze medals, putting them second in the medal standings.
Tiyana, Sakshi Suryavanshi, and Kirandeep Kaur won team gold in the Women’s 50m Pistol, while Tiyana also took bronze individually.
Tiyana took bronze with a score of 533, while Sakshi Suryavanshi finished fifth in the Women’s 50m Pistol with a score of 531. Kirandeep Kaur came in 11th place with 509. However, the trio totaled 1573 to win gold, with China finishing with 1567 and Mongolia with 1566.
India also won two bronze medals in the Men’s 50m Pistol event, with Ravinder Singh shooting 556 in the individual event to finish third and then combining with Kamaljeet (547 for 11th) and Vikram Shinde (543 for 18th) for team bronze. They numbered 1646 in total.
The Indian pair of Prithviraj Tondaiman and Manisha Keer shot 133 to rank 22nd in the final Olympic event of the World Championship, while Kynan Chenai and Preeti Rajak shot the same number but finished 24th in the end calculations.
India won a gold and two bronze medals in Baku’s Olympic competitions, while also having seven finalists and earning four Paris Olympic quota berths.
The Asian Games, which take place next month, will be the next big assignment of the Indian Shooting team.
