Home Minister Amit Shah instructed police and agencies on Tuesday to find the perpetrators of the Delhi blast, which killed 13 people near the Red Fort on Monday. This comes as the home minister conducted a second security review following the explosion, which triggered a high alert across the country.
He added that all those involved in the act will face the full wrath of the law.
“Chaired review meetings on the Delhi car blast with the senior officials. Instructed them to hunt down each and every culprit behind this incident. Everyone involved in this act will face the full wrath of our agencies,” Shah wrote in a post on X.
Amit Shah holds security review meetings
According to sources, Amit Shah assessed the security situation in the national capital and other regions of the country twice on Tuesday after the blast near the Red Fort occurred. Shah chaired one meeting in the morning and another in the afternoon. The first meeting was attended by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Director of the Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka, Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha, and NIA Director General Sadanand Vasant Date. Nalin Prabhat, Director General of Police in Jammu and Kashmir, joined the meeting electronically.
During the conversations, key officials provided thorough evaluations of the situation following the explosion.
Nearly the same group of authorities participated in the afternoon review as well.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has also entrusted the investigation into the blast to the National Investigation Agency. The action indicates that the government is treating the tragedy, which has claimed 12 lives thus far, as an act of terror, as the NIA is in charge of managing terror-related investigations.
