Depression Centered Near Nuapada, To Maintain Its Intensity For Next 12 Hrs: IMD

The depression over south Odisha and bordering south Chhattisgarh moved north-northwest at 15 kmph in the last six hours.

According to the India Meteorological Department’s most recent weather bulletin, the system was centered over south Chhattisgarh and adjoining south interior Odisha, near latitude 20.9°N and longitude 82.4°E, approximately 80 kilometers east-southeast of Raipur (Chhattisgarh) and north-northwest of Nuapada (Odisha).

It was around 130 kilometers south-southwest of Champa and 140 kilometers south of Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh.

According to the IMD, the system will most likely continue to move north-northwestward, maintaining its depression strength for the next 12 hours before weakening into a well-defined low pressure area for the next 12 hours. The system is under continuous surveillance by the Doppler Weather Radars at Sambalpur and Raipur, the IMD added.
